From the chalet up in the mountains, Greetings! We hope that this letter finds you well in whatever part of the world you happen to be.
Although we are still few weeks away from the new school year, I am already thinking about and planning for the return of GIS" 2009 - 2010 community of teachers and learners. This newsletter carries important information and instructions for the start of the academic year. We ask that both students and parents read it carefully in order to ensure a smooth beginning to the upcoming school year.
I School Calendar
The school year at GIS consists of three trimesters of about 11 weeks each. The starting and ending dates for the 2009 - 2010 academic year will be as follows:
All students to arrive on (or before) Sunday 13th September 2009
Classes to commence on Monday, 14th September 2009
Last exam to take place on Thursday 10th December 2009
Departure for all students is Friday 11th December 2009
Christmas Holidays: 11th December 2009 to January 3rd 2010
Mid term break from the 23rd of October to the 1st of November 2009 - Trimester II : Winter Term
All students to arrive on (or before) Sunday 3rd January 2010
Classes to commence on Monday 4th January 2010
Last exam to take place on Thursday 11th March 2010
Departure for all students is Friday 12th March 2010
Easter Holidays: 12th March 2010 to Monday 12th April 2010 - Trimester III : Spring Term
All students to arrive on (or before) Monday 12th April 2010
Classes to commence on Tuesday 13th April 2010
Last exam to take place on Thursday 10th June 2010
Departure for all students is Friday 11th June 2010
Summer Holidays: 11th June 2010 to Sunday September 12th 2010 |
