From the chalet up in the mountains, Greetings! We hope that this letter finds you well in whatever part of the world you happen to be.
Although we are still few weeks away from the new school year, I am already thinking about and planning for the return of GIS" 2009 - 2010 community of teachers and learners. This newsletter carries important information and instructions for the start of the academic year. We ask that both students and parents read it carefully in order to ensure a smooth beginning to the upcoming school year.
I School Calendar
The school year at GIS consists of three trimesters of about 11 weeks each. The starting and ending dates for the 2009 - 2010 academic year will be as follows:
All students to arrive on (or before) Sunday 12th September 2010
Classes to commence on Monday, 13th September 2010
Last exam to take place on Thursday 16th December 2010
Departure for all students is Friday 17th December 2010
Christmas Holidays: 17th December 2010 to Sunday January 9th 2011
Mid term break from the Friday 23rd of October to the 31st of October 2010 - Trimester II : Winter Term
All students to arrive on (or before) Sunday the 9th of January 2011
Classes to commence on Monday 10th January 2011
Last exam to take place on Thursday 24th March 2011
Departure for all students is Friday 25th March 2011
Easter Holidays: Friday 25th of March 2011 to Monday 25th of April 2011 - Trimester III : Spring Term
All students to arrive on (or before) Monday 25th of April 2011
Classes to commence on Tuesday 26th April 2011
Last exam to take place on Thursday 9th June 2011
Departure for all students is Friday 10th June 2011
Summer Holidays: 10th June 2011 to Sunday September 16th 2011 Academic summer session (From Sunday the 26th of June to Saturday the 16th of July 2011) All students to arrive on or before Sunday the 26th of June 2011 Classes to commence on Monday the 27th of June 2011 Last exam on Friday the 15th of July 2011 Departure of all students is on Saturday the 16th of July 2011
